Conference C02 calculator

About the application

The Conference CO₂ travel calculator lets you calculate the carbon costs of flying to and from your next international meeting or conference.

It helps you work out which locations for your event might be less harmful to the environment than others, depending on where your delegates are travelling from.

The application lets you specify departure and arrival airports for every delegate who will be travelling, helping you calculate the total CO₂ emissions of air travel to and from your event.

It also allows you to compare the CO₂ travel costs of return flights for up to three different international destinations at a time.

Using the calculator

• Tap the ‘Start calculating’ button to begin using the calculator. Set the departure location for each of the delegates who will be travelling to your event by following the onscreen instructions. You’ll be presented with a list of countries, followed by a list of airports. Once you’ve chosen an airport, you’ll be prompted to enter the number of delegates travelling from that airport.
• You can then add more departure locations or move on to choosing your destination. If you move on to choosing your destination, you’ll be presented with a list of countries again, followed by a list of airports. Choose the airport nearest to your chosen event location. You can add up to three destinations this way.
• When you’ve finished, tap ‘Calculate’ to see the CO₂ travel costs for your chosen destinations. After a couple of seconds, you’ll be presented with your results.
• You can then email the results, start over to compare a new set of destinations, or see details of venue offers in Ireland.
• If you select the venue offers section, you’ll be presented with a list of venues and locations. Tap a venue to get more information - including pricing and contact details. You can email or telephone your chosen venue directly by tapping the ‘call venue’ or ‘email venue’ buttons. You can add an offer to your saved favourites by tapping ‘add to favourites’.
• You can use the icons at the bottom of your screen to navigate between the calculator, venue offers, saved favourites and more info sections at any time.
